Families with Autism Helping Families with Autism

Call To Action

Parents, families and friends affected by autism are busy enough with the efforts it takes to raise, care and help their children. The goal is between all of our families that we can work to affect change for not only our individual families but everyone affected by autism.

Here are some suggestions for helping create autism awareness, helping families, and supporting research and other others relating to autism.

1. Support the Autism Organization by donating whatever you can afford, time or donations in kind. List of national and California organizations.

AND REMEMBER – AT TACA we need your help TOO! How can you help TACA?

2. Take time to educate people you know about Autism. Let them know about this website and how they can help. Let them know you love someone with Autism. Some other ways to educate the people around you about autism:
  • contact your local state and federal legislators about autism
  • wear autism gear (such as T-shirts, pins, bracelets, bags and stickers on your car. Educate everyone around you.)

Be sure to be up to date on the latest autism statistics and information.

3. Start Your Own Support Group
Start with affiliating with an existing autism organization or just start your own! The most important thing is to GET INVOLVED!

Want to start a TACA group? Contact Jen Lundy, Chapter Manager.

4. Watch important state and federal legislation! If you are affected by autism it is IMPORTANT to let people know that make laws to help you!! They wi ll only know if they hear about your needs and your family.

For the latest in ca lls to action on a federal level check www.nationalautismassociation.org and for the State of California - email: martyomoto@rcip.com for the latest news.

REMEMBER – even though time is a precious and scarce resource - Being involved is the only way to make changes that can positively affect your family!
