| June 16, 2012 | Making Sense of All the Different Diets for Autism |
| Speakers: Linda Betzold and Sara DiFucci | |
| Hippocrates said food is medicine. What we eat can help us or harm us. That’s especially true for a child with autism. There are so many different diets that can help our loved ones with autism — GFCFSF, GAPS, SCD, Rotation, Body Ecology Diet and more. But it can be confusing. What are all these diets? What’s the difference between these diets? How do I know which diet will help my child with autism? These are the questions we hope to answer at this meeting. We’ll discuss the basics of these diets — how they can help, how to implement them, and we’ll share resources to help you on your diet journey with autism. | |
| Linda Betzold and Sara DiFucci are the co-leaders of the Crystal Lake TACA chapter. Linda has a 16-year old son with autism, and Sara has a 13-year old daughter who is affected. Between them they have over 20 years of experience with dietary and biomedical intervention for autism spectrum disorders. They have employed many different diets with their children over the years and dealt with multiple food allergies and sensitivities. |
Coffee Talk
| What: | Please join us for our last TACA Coffee Talk before summer! As always we’ll be talking about anything and everything related to autism, but we’ll also focus this month on the upcoming AutismOne Conference taking place at the Westin in Lombard, Illinois from May 23 to 27, 2012. We’ll look at speakers and topics together, so everyone can decide which presentation to see at this point in their journey, enabling them to use their time wisely at the conference this year. Check out the conference. After summer, our TACA Coffee Talks will start up again in the same location on Friday, September 14, 2012. |
| Date: | TBA |
| Time: | 9:30 – 11:00 AM |
| Location: | Panera Bread 451 South Randall Road Algonquin, IL 60102 Directions from your location |
